Whether you are looking to entertain guests, baking project with the kids, or simply to satisfy that sweet tooth of yours, this recipe is a must try. This Banana Chocolate Chip Bread requires minimal ingredients and effort. Yet, it turns out delish!
Ingredients:
- 2 large ripe or over-ripe bananas (If small, use 4)
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup melted butter (salted)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ cup sugar (If you like extra sweet, then add ½ cup)
- 1 ½ cup all purpose flour
- Chocolate chips (I used ¼ cup but you can use more/less depending on your preference)
Directions:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 F
- Mash Bananas in a bowl
- Mix together all purpose flour, sugar and baking soda in a separate bowl
- Beat the egg and mix with melted butter (make sure to cool the butter a little else the eggs will start to cook if too hot!)
- Add the dry ingredients to the mashed bananas, slowly, in about 3 parts while folding gently with a spatula
- Add the melted butter and egg mixture and chocolate chips and continue folding
- Fold until well combined, but do not over fold
- Lightly grease the baking pan or you can line with baking paper
- Evenly spread the mixture in the pan
- Place the pan on the center rack of the oven and bake for 45 minutes (the time may vary depending on oven, so after 45 min, insert a tooth pick in the bread and if it comes out clean, it is done)
- Serve fresh out of the oven or allow to cool and enjoy!
Tips:
- Do not over mix as it will dry out the bread
- Do not over bake as that will also dry out the bread
- Incase your bread does turn out dry, put it in the toaster oven at 400 F for 2-3 minutes. Spread some butter and serve. It will really moist the bread
- Spread some butter even if bread is already moist! It just tastes delicious!
- The bread can be stored on the counter for 3-4 days
