Old Time Christmas Tree Farm
With Christmas right around the corner, the Christmas tree farms are in full swing! If you are looking for some fun things to do with little kids, and spend no or bare minimum money, then I recommend going to the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm.
I took my 18 months old nephew and he had a blast. The weather in Houston is gorgeous these days so perfect time to be outdoors.
The entrance to the farm is free. The staff welcomes you at the gate and they are very friendly and helpful. They guide you on how everything works as well as suggest free versus paid activities.

I did the hayride with my nephew. I preferred that over the train, not only because it was free, but also because I was able to get on and off at various spots. My nephew loves to run around and he was fascinated by the Christmas trees. He thoroughly enjoyed himself running around the trees.
For food items, unfortunately, outside food and drinks are not allowed. However, I tend to carry my own snacks wherever I go, so I had everything packed in my car. You can easily go in and out of the farm. I was able to carry my own water bottle inside. None of the staff objected so I guessed it was okay. I also had a diaper bag with baby food. I was feeding my nephew his own food at the farm and no one objected to that either.
We spent about 3 hours at the farm. It was my first time going to a tree farm and I enjoyed it just as much as my nephew. For free family fun, you really cannot go wrong with this place. Check it out while the good weather lasts!
